History of watches
A watch is the one that is worn on the wrist with a strap that can be made of leather, but here I am highlighting the bronze ones. As the first watch was made to a woman, in the past, men used more pocket watches. The look was that the bracelet was a feminine jewel.
The first watch were created by Louis Cartier in 1904 for the aviator Santos-Dumont who made the first motor flight flying a plane called 14-bis. The calculations that the pilots made with the clocks were very important since thanks to him they could calculate directions, distances and hours of fuel that they had left to be able to continue in the air.
Why buy a bronze watch?
According to an old saying “He who ignores the time of day is like who walks in the dark.” But today we have other devices that tell us the time. Does that mean that bronze watches are no longer in fashion? The answer is “NO”. For a while now the watch became a fashion accessory that conveys an unsurpassed elegance. Both men and women choose luxury watches, sports watches or everyday models for every day as part of their outfit.
Bronze watches set the trend.
Nowadays women love models with chronometers like those used by men, but there is also a return to small watches, with an air of the 50s. Vintage is a very strong trend that came to stay. A change of retro-oriented look with the style of the 20s, 30s, and 40s is coming. That’s where bronze watches have their role. Now we are at a time where the opposite styles coexist.
Who manufactures bronze watches?
The main brands are increasingly betting on their bronze watch lines. They turn their products into authentic vintage jewelry thanks to the patina effect. At the same time that models are manufactured in ceramics, titanium or the revolutionary and very light graphene, there are more and more brands that are rescuing one of the oldest metals known to man: bronze. Some of the brands are:
- Corum Admiral
- Graham Swordfish
- Hublot Classic Fusion Fuente
- IWC Aquatimer Chronograph
- Maurice Lacroix Aikon
- Oris
- Seiko
- Panerai
- Autavia
- Zenith Pilot
